Our Staff
The key to finding the "right" dental office is finding one with people who are dedicated to caring for YOU. We try our best to treat each patient as the unique individual they are. From the doctors, to the staff, to the specialists we work with, our goal is to always provide our patients with the best overall dental care possible in a pleasant environment and providing this care all begins with our people.
Sanford Saito, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Saito is a graduate of Iolani School, the University of Hawaii, and the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Besides his passion for teeth and gums, he enjoys travel to foreign countries, and an occasional round of hacker's golf. His attempt to speak Japanese has been his ongoing challenge for years but his results are still grossly overshadowed by his abilty to do great dentistry.
Vanessa Choy, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Choy is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry. She was born and raised in California but after marrying a local boy and raising two children in Hawaii, she's now just another local girl. She has also been sky diving, and has been to all but two of the world's Disney-lands. In one summer, as a flight student, she piloted to all 48 continental US states.
Jana
Office Manager/
Scheduling Coordinator
Jana has been a part of our office for more than 30 years. Her "get it done" attitude has always been the driving force and inspiration to everyone in the office. Her MacGyver abilities and ideas have helped our office continue improving efficiency to provide our patients with the best care possible. Jana loves travel and has been to 4 of 7 continents and still counting.
Lori
Financial Coordinator
Lori has been with our office for over 30 years and will work with both you and your insurance company to maximize your insurance coverage as well as create payment options to help you get the treatment you need or desire, done. If you know anything about golf, you'll know more after talking with Lori, the proud mom of two full-ride college golf scholarship kids
Stacy, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist
We are truly fortunate to have Stacy join our family as a hygienist. Due to her start in a Pedodontic office (children's dentistry), her gentle, kid-like personality is very evident... until she finds herself in the presence of plaque and gum disease. That's when the gum care monster appears. But she is a gentle monster and can be calmed down by getting her to talk about her love for hiking and Netflix binge watching.
Bev, RDH
Registered Dental Hygienist
Bev joined our team after gaining quite a bit of experience at a busy corporate office. Her personality seems to fit the more relaxed and personal patient relationships at our office. But don't let her soft demeanor overshadow her intensity when it comes to oral health. Bev loves hiking, sewing, and can give you a great review of most Honolulu restaurants. Bev is bilingual and will hopefully quickly gain your confidence with her attention to detail.
Sherrie
Chairside Dental Assistant
Sherrie has been the left hand and right brain for Dr. Saito for over 30 years. Working together daily, they perform as one and the patients truly benefit through this symbiotic relationship. Sherrie is often mistaken as her daughter's sister because she keeps herself going with long walks and an occasional volleyball match with the team her husband coaches. We're pretty sure that her "stressless" job working daily with Dr. Saito helps.
Maile
Dental Assistant
Maile is surely our do everything "utility" person. Maile has been with us for over 15 years and has been contributing in so many different ways. She can handle the front office tasks as well as assist either Dr. with patients. Be assured that you are in very capable care when working with Maile. Her "Aloha" spirit will radiate as a result of her Kamehameha Schools upbringing. You may even get lucky and hear her singing one of her Kamehameha Song Fest renditions.
Nora
Chairside Dental Assistant
Nora has worked tirelessly to have won the role of Dr. Choy's "favorite". Born and raised in Texas, Nora has left her cowgirl roots to try her hand at becoming a true "surfer chick". After completing her Dental Assisting Certification Program, she has joined our family and has brought her shy Texas humor to us. Our biggest challenge with Nora is to get her to try the local foods. We're trying but still with a long way to go.
